How to Use a Potato Peeler Machine

This article is designed to help users understand how to use a potato peeler machine properly, ensuring not only correct operation but also proper maintenance. With clear instructions and practical tips, users will be able to operate the equipment and extend its service life confidently.

Potato peeler machines are commonly used in the food service industry. Based on different peeling methods and mechanisms, they are mainly divided into two types:

How to Use a Potato Peeler Machine

 Machine Potato Peeler

1 . Working Principle

This type uses a carborundum peeling method. When potatoes are placed inside the drum, the motor drives the bottom disc to rotate, causing the potatoes to tumble and rub against the inner abrasive wall of the drum. At the same time, water is used to flush away the peeled skin and any dirt or debris.

2.  How to Use

  • Before starting the machine, open the lid and load potatoes. For model TP350, the recommended load is 5–8 kg per batch; for TP450, it’s 15–25 kg per batch.

  • Turn on the water inlet, adjust the flow as needed, close the lid, and start the machine.

  • Let the machine run for about 2 minutes. Then turn off the power and water supply. If peeling is complete, place a container under the discharge outlet, open the discharge door, and restart the machine. The potatoes will be pushed out automatically by the rotating disc.

  • After every five batches or after each use, remove leftover skins and debris from the bottom of the drum. To do this, open the lid, take out the rotating disc, and rinse thoroughly with water.

Tip: When removing the lid, lift one side's spring clip first for easier removal. To reassemble, insert one side of the lid at an angle into the spring clip and press the other side down to secure it—this ensures the lid stays firmly closed during operation.

Vegetable Washing Machine

1. Working Principle

This machine uses rotating brush rollers. Through friction between the rollers and the potatoes—and between the potatoes themselves—the outer skin, dirt, and impurities are scrubbed away effectively.

2. How to Use

  • Before use, check that the brush rollers rotate freely. If not, apply lubricant to the bearings.

  • Keep the motor and power cords dry and undamaged to avoid electrical hazards. Always ensure the ground wire is securely connected.

  • Adjust the water flow based on how dirty the raw potatoes are.

  • After the machine starts and runs steadily, feed potatoes gradually and evenly—do not start the machine with a full load.

  • After 4–5 minutes of washing, open the discharge door to release the cleaned potatoes.

  • After use, rinse the brush rollers thoroughly, turn off the machine and water supply, and dry the equipment for next use.
